Batwing for 1999 Nomad1500/Classic tourer?
Hello guys, I recently ordered a Memphis shades batwing, and a trigger lock system. The dealer sent me a trigger lock for a 2001 Fi. That did not fit. Then he sent me a trigger lock for a classic. That did not fit either. Emailed memphis in the US and they said that they don´t manufacture for 1999 models. So now I´m asking you. Are there any Memphis trigger locks out there that fits the 1999 without modification? It may be possible that some other bikes system could work. Perhaps the Honda Vtx 1800. I think it has clamps that just goes around the shock absorber.
http://www.memphisshades.com/images/...FORWEBSITE.jpg Or are there any other batwings that uses the original windshield attachment points? What about stealth? http://theusatrailerstore.com/kawasa...nomad-fairing/ I´m not sure if they ships overseas but I emailed them also. Hoppe Industries? Tsukayu? But they are way more expensive. Probably better quality.

Well, Yes, the stealth mounts to the original mounting holes via brackets similar to the stock windshield....I'm running one. Good little fairing, comes with the mounting brackets and 2 windshields.
The trigger locks are nice, but it makes it really easy for someone to relieve you of your windshield. If you get the Stealth, all you have to do is cut slots into the mounting holes, just like folks do for the stock windshield....then you can take it off quickly and easily just by loosening the bolts. I cured the thievery part by drilling a hole and installing padlock on one side. Also the StreetGlide windshields, trim, and pouches fit this fairing. Fairing, brackets, 2 windshield, 1 clear, 1 tinted, about 4", for under $250 USD.....excluding shipping. Oh, Welcome Aboard!

Thank you. Is it possible for you to take a photo of the stealth and how it´s mounted on your bike?

Mount on fairing....
mount on bike.... Any Questions? Also, when I ran the power and ground to the fuse block inside of the fairing for the stereo and driving lights, I ran the cables to just past the steering neck, and installed a trailer flat plug w/ 4 wires. 1 to batt. grnd, 1 to batt. power (For radio memory and lights), 1 powered when switch is on, other left over for god knows what else down the road....Then a plug wired going into fairing w/ grommet in hole. I just roll up the excess and fasten it up with reusable velcro wire ties. Toggle switch (3-way), so I can run my flood lights controlled by low beam, or turn them on if I need them in a parking lot without starting the engine, OR to turn them on , on a really dark, unlit, unlined road even on hi-beam. The light wires coning out has 2-2 wire flats that plug into the wires going to the driving lights. So, whenever I need to remove the fairing, I just unplug 3 connectors, loosen the bolts, and remove....

That sounds nice! Good setup with the wires. I will keep that in mind. Did you post any photos here? Or maybe I´m not able to see them for some reason.

You should be able to see them. I don't until I sign into my account. Its squirrely here, I run Linux, and posting pics is like a nightmare....
Click on my avatar, and go look at my album. They should be there....

Yep thanks, now I found them. It looks like the mounting points on your bike are the same as on the first trigger lock i got from Memphis. For the Nomad 2001 FI. So there is a difference. I only have one original on the fork. So the next step will be to figure out if trigger locks from another bike would fit. The Honda Vtx with covered forks trigger lock system with clamps maybe...

Well, its only metal! Get the Stealth, the lower wind breaker doesn't fit all the way against the brackets....it will fit! Ya know, If things don't line up, its easy enough to drill holes....its just that simple. 1999-2004 are the same on the windshields.... same mountups....
No need to try to re-invent the wheel here.... http://www.bikebandit.com/oem-parts/...49435#sch64175 http://www.bikebandit.com/oem-parts/...149607#sch6562

Hello everybody. I installed Vance & Hines dual baggers and a jet kit from them also during the winter. Got the batwing painted in the darker green color because the lighter green was hard to find. So now I´m pretty pleased with the bike and I just drive.
