K-Act Antilock brakes on Ice
So, I am trying to get my bike in the shop in between snow storms. Minneapolis ,MN. I know a tough call.
So I was wondering with the K-act brakes if I hit any ice would I go down immediately? Since I can not just use my rear brakes, being linked I will have some braking on the front. Yes they are Anti lock but on ice like in my driveway or a parking lot? I have driven on ice with my 5oo CX Honda, And that had the drag of Shaft drive. Not good on ice. but I could control the back brake only and the bike was only 500 lbs. Just wondering if anyone has had the experience.

Not ice but sand on asphalt in a curve. Butt pucker!! The brakes only connect after 12 mph. I would be move concerned with the weight of the bike.

2 wheels on ice = rubber side up! If you hit ice on 2 wheels, you better be going straight ahead and not be on the brakes at all (ABS or not) and you have to hope you can stay upright until you get past the ice.

So, mbarr10, did you get the bike to the shop successfully? Enquiring minds want to know!

I am biting the bullet today, Calling for the tow. For 130 bucks I will get it in and it will be ready to ride when I can in March or so. NO waiting for a month while I could be riding, I miss it already. Bonus, I get to see the best way to tie down the bike on a trailer with out possible use of my Deductable insurance.
Education and convenience costs money.

Wise choice. $130 for having it trailered or hauled is a fraction of what the damage may cost you if you put it on it's side not to mention the potential physical damage to your body!
