Adios Vaquero
Well, after five years of owning a Vaquero, I have moved on to the darkside (not tire, Harley).
I test rode a 2020 Road Glide special, and to my surprise it rode smoothly and was very nimble. I personally found it easier to handle in curves and at slow speed. I am assuming this is due to a lower center of gravity and shorter wheel base (slow speed manuvering). I would like to thank everyone here for the information I garnered. I know that it made owning the Vaquero much more enjoyable. Ride safe and keep the shiny side up! PS: I was given $11k trade in for my 2015 Vaquero the same amount I paid for it in January 2017.

When I purchased it, it had 3,300 miles. When I traded it in it was right about 27,000.

I recently inquired about trading in my current SUV and was surprised to see what they would offer me for it in trade. Most dealers don't have many vehicles in stock and a new SUV would take a couple of months to arrive and don't expect to get a deal on it. You get a high trade in value but don't expect to pay less than MSRP for the new vehicle.

For 10k over retail, I'd be telling the dealer to keep his bike. Go find a good used one, they are usually available with low miles if you look around and are willing to travel a bit.

Amen to that. NO WAY would I pay over MSRP period. Note that its called Manufacturer Suggested Retail Price, which means the profit margin is already calculated into the selling price. What I have seen of some actual dealer invoices versus MSRP leaves some decent margin to work from. Anything higher is just gouging the market. But also, those dealer invoices did show me the dealer wasn't making as big a sales margin as many would assume they get when selling the bike.
