A good friend was riding up toward the panhandle of FL, near Apalachicola in a group of 20 HD's and he took a spill. He went wide on a corner on his Fatboy, got into the grass and went down. This happened Monday morning, just found out today.

He has a broken left wrist and a broken right thumb. He goes in for orthopedic work tomorrow.

Bruce has only been riding a full size bike for about 8 months or so. Please send healing prayers and thoughts his way.

How did the bike do through it all? Since it is a HD it will probably cost more to fix it than it will to fix him.

The Tallahassee HD dealership said that it was probably a total loss. They are waiting to hear from the insurance company.

Apparently the accident ripped off the left engine guard, some lighting, front fender is toast, the tank has two big dents in it and some other things. Sounds like a total loss to me but I'm not an insurance adjuster.

His wife said his full face helmet was also toast. I reminded her those are single even items and it did what it was supposed to do...keep him safe.

Yep - unfortunately with increased m/c riding in the warm month the incidents also increase.

Ron best wishes sent for your buddy. I had a friend last fall who hit a dog at slow parking lot speed - she shattered one of the bones in her leg and is still in a wheelchair doing physical therapy. She may be on a walking brace next week. Long recovery.
