A boyfriend of one of my co-workers was involved in an accident yesterday. Was conscious when taken to the first hospital (Hagerstown). Once there, they flew him onto Baltimore's Shock Trauma.

From the scanty details I could get, the big damage, in addition to some internal bleeding is a broken pelvis, femur and possibly an ankle. There was no indication of head injury, so I'm interpreting the limited information as relatively positive and merely a precautionary flight because the smaller hospital didn't trust itself about the bleeding.

His name is Matt if you want to drop a prayer.

It's prayers and positive thinking that carry us through times like this Bob. I happy to pray for Matt and I sure he'll have a speedy recovery.

Thanks everyone.

Update from my co-worker:

Matt is still listed in critical condition in the Neuro-Trauma area of the Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, but he is making slight improvements and is now able to communicate with us. The best news is that he survived; the good news is that he appears to have no serious spinal or internal issues. He has a very long recovery ahead. Thank you again for reaching out. It has meant a lot to me.

Thanks for the update. Hope he continues to improve but tell your coworker not to get discouraged if he has an occassional setback....sometimes with these long recoveries it's 2 steps forward and 1 step back but steady as she goes. We'll keep him in our thoughts/prayers. Nancy Nurse
