Riding boots

I'm starting early. I'm in the market for a good set of riding boots. Looking for all day comfort, something that would be good on a hike or walking around town. I practically live in tennis shoes, other than when I'm riding, so I'm looking for something with equal comfort. Only problem I have is high arches so I have problems with most slip ons.

Riding boots

Due to space limitations on the bike I have taken to wearing my Vasque hiking boots. Go to Cabelas and check out some of the RedWing boots.

A friend of mine who rides HD bought a set of HD boots that are water proof and he said it was like walking in tennis shoes ?????? I guess it depends on how much you are willing to pay they look like a hiking boot if I talk to him I will find out the name of them

I wear a pair almost identical to these. They're six years old so there are slight differences.

I also have a pair of Double H Harness or Engineers boots that I had the zippers put in the sides.

Riding boots

Are you looking for a boot to both ride with and hike/walk with?

I like these

http://www.rockyboots.com/Product-De...ton-Work-Boot/

Waterproof and conferable for both riding and casual walking. But, pricey unless you find then on sale.

I have some Harley boot that I really like. I've had them for 3 years now and they seem to be holding up well.

Yes riding and biking with the same pair is the plan. I'm sure the wife will take care of packing extra shoes. I only want the pair I will be wearing.

Riding boots

I own a pair of Timberland, very comfortable but probably not very waterproof.

Riding boots

I've been wearing a pair of Sidi OnRoad Sympatex boots for the past 11 years. They're comfortable, right out of the box and are absolutely waterproof, right up until the water starts pouring in over the tops. They're comfy to walk around in, too, and provide great support while riding. Nowadays they're waterproofed with Gore Tex and cost about $350.00 a pair, so they're a bit spendy, but in this case, you do get what you pay for, and that is high quality. I sometimes with they would wear out so I could get a new pair, but they keep on keeping on! I've had them resoled twice and replaced the velcro on the side straps, but that's it. I highly recommend these boots.

Try www.newenough.com
They carry a large inventory and have great prices and service.

Riding boots

I bought a pair of Sidi Canyon Gore-Tex boots last year. They are absolutely waterproof and I find them very comfortable. I have a problem having slip on boots fit me, but these have a ratchet buckle system to tighten them down and they open up from the side so they are easy to slip on (velcro, no zippers). I bought them from http://www.motogearoutlet.com/boot.htm when I was in Denver last year. They are on the pricey side $300, but I got them for $250ish in their store.

I had a pair of HD boots and they were like wearing slippers, but not much protection and they laced up the front so after a rain i pretty much could pour the water out of my boots!

Here is a link to a review of them http://www.webbikeworld.com/motorcyc.../canyon-boots/ I had my HD boots for 4 years and these are so much better made I expect I will have them for a very very long time

I'll 2nd the vote for Cruiserworks boots, the absolute most comfortable boot I have ever worn on or off the bike. Mine are 100% waterproof and theres no need to carry other shoes on the bike.

Riding boots

First, I'm not a tennis shoe or sneaker kinda guy. There is not enough support in that type of shoe when your 260 lbs with sports injured ankles. I wear boots as my daily footwear.

I have H-D Dipsticks ($49 at the time) that are over 10 years old. I have two pairs of Redwing 971 steel toe motorcycle boots ($160) and W-M Brahma steel toe work boots ($29). All these boots are all made in China.

I don't ride through steams, so waterproof, so this is not a big deal to me. However the Redwings are H2O proof. After seeing what the payment does to footwear when it ends up under a bike in a crash, I would not think about anything but a steel toed boot. The steel toe saved the Missus feet last time I went for a skid.

The H-D boots where primarily worn on the bike. I won't buy the H-D boot again, only because of branding. I'm not an advertising banner for H-D. The Redwing is too expensive and too heavy. I am currently trying a pair of Brahma Gus model boots. I have been pleasantly surprised with the Brahma boot. I wear the Brahmas all day, on the concrete at work with a simple memory foam insert. The Brahmas are a medium to light weight boot with good stabilization. I would buy the Brahmas again based on comfort, safety and economy.
