When to adjust valves?

My uncle, who is a Honda fanatic, asked me the other day at what mileage would I have to adjust the valves and said his Honda Shadow 700 (older model bike) had self-adjusting valves, always trying to make Honda seem superior. What the Hell does that mean? I'm new, can someone tell me if or when I need to adjust my valves? Thanks, Jamie

When to adjust valves?

The valves on our bikes dont need adjusting. They have hydraulic lifters in them that take care of that for us.

When to adjust valves?

Like Ringadingh said, our valves are self adjusting too, no need to adjust, as a mater of fact, they are "NON-Adjustable".

Would you bring some good air for my shocks while you're at it? I can only get cheap imported stuff up here.
