Quick Wash
I admit I hate washing my bike...I detail the bike or nothing. So my bike looks super great or really bad if I havent had the time to clean it. A buddy tells me about Mr. Clean autodry kit, I buy one, $15 and a $10 mail in rebate.
I hook it to my hose, follow the directions, do a quick cleaning. I did towel dry the windshield and mirrors. Took it for a quick spin, get back home and there are no spots...not one, on the bike. All of the chrome is sparking clean. It was great! Login or Register to Remove Ads |

I have this kit and get the same results. It does a great job. We have so many bugs here that I have to scrub them off the windshield and a couple spots on the motor, but the clean rinse job of Mr. Clean is awesome!

So what you're saying is that road grime is NOT an acceptable form of paint protectant, and that we're really supposed to spend valuable riding time washing them? DOH!!! :-/
It'll probably take some time for me to adjust to this shifted paradigm. . . . . |

I had one of those but didn't care for it. I broke the second time I used it. I went back to doing it all by hand.

After I wash my bike I dry it with a LEAF BLOWER.
I bought a cheap one and it works great. No spots.

You must not have any bugs where you live. I get a daily dose of protein if I even think of lowering my windshield. Nevermind the rest of bike - Sometimes I think I add an extra pound of two every time I take it out for a spin. The windshield alone takes 10-15 minutes of my time scrubbing all the little bastards off.

I found that for bugs the lysol spray cleaner. The all purpose stuff, orange liquid in a clear bottle. Works great. Cleans em off easy with little elbow grease and doesn't streak. Works better than the glass cleaner I have.

An easy way to deal with bugs on the windshield is to lay a warm, sopping wet towel over the windshield for about 5 minutes. That softens the bugs up and makes them much easier to remove. I put it in place and let it soak while I hook up the hose and ready the bucket-o-suds for the wash.

Think I'll try the stuff. I hate washing my bike; but the worst is getting rid of all the spots. If this does that, then it'll be great for me -- since getting rid if the bugs isn't too bad of a problem with me.
I have a power washer that isn't so strong to blow-off the paint -- thus does a great job on bugs and grit.

I, too, am not fond of washing my bike. I have used the Mr. Clean Pro kit for four years now on my cars, and for the two years I've had the Nomad. I won't use anything else. It works great for me. I also use a leaf blower. No spots either way !
