Lost Our Little Buddy Today

With tears in my eyes I want to share that our 13 yr old dog 'Buddy' died this morning. He was a happy dog, always making us laugh.

I sent Brad in Iraq an email...I know it will make for a sad day for him. Buddy has been part of our family since a pup...........rest well my old friend.........................

I'm very sorry for your loss. We have a 13 year old springer spaniel named Elvis...we know it's just a matter of time. I'm dreading that day.

Anyone who has ever felt the warmth and undying love of a cherished pet is sharing in your sorrow. I have had to put down a couple dogs in the past and it is never with a dry eye. We have a 19 yr. old cat that is getting close, so we know what we are facing again for sure. Very sorry to hear of your loss... :'(.

Sorry to hear about your loss. We had to put down our girl of 14 years last year. Never easy but we do have the memories of them. Just remember the rainbow bridge.

Losing a family pet is definitely one of the toughest things to endure.

I feel for you, sorry for your loss. Sept.25th I had to put Sally down due to liver cancer. I too cried like a baby, I miss her very much. Time heals all losses. Take care my friend..Bdog

Sorry for your loss Nancy. I know how tough it is. We put down our 15 year old Dachshund 3 years ago. It's never easy when you love a pet as much as you loved Buddy. Time will heal.

Thanks for your thoughts. He had been breathing labored all night and we did not sleep much. This morning he went under the bed in the geast bedroom...he came out when he heard me go by..he was stumbling as he walked.

Ken and I just sat on the den floor with him. He was breathing so hard looking up at us...then he laid his head down. Ken got the camera for one last picture...he raised his head up and looked into the camera, Ken took the picture...then Buddy laid his head back down and was gone in just a few more seconds...it was like...okay..my last picture to say goodbye. .............

He was always making us and our friends smile and laugh. One cute thing he did..when he was sitting in my lap....I could say "You're a good boy" and he would lean in, bending his neck and touch the top of his head against my chest.....it just melted everybody's heart.............as I said rest well old friend. Thanks for letting me share.

So True...I was holding him and Ken had his arms around both of us. Ken and I were crying just telling him how much we loved him.
