I'd love to go one day, but it won't happen this year.

I went when it was a mere 17,,000 motorcycles. I can't imagine 250,000 MCs. Basically you will be standing on a parking lot for several hours until it gets going. Lots of bikes to look at and bikers to talk too. The run is maybe ten miles long. Then when you get going I believe the leaders travel at 30 MPH and but back in the pack expect to go between 1 and 70 MPH as the ulltimate motorcycle riding group rubber band pulls you along. After you arrive at the Lincoln Memorial the fun begins music, speeches and good comraderie are the order of the day.

I went to it a few years ago and the best thing is, I got to ride through as a passenger. It's awesome to see that many motorcycles in one area, but I don't think I will go back anytime soon. I know it's for a good cause, but too much waiting around for me.

A couple of us usually try to ride up to the event on Sat or Sun every year. We don't participate in the parade. I think that the parade is for Veterans but I don't know. None of us are Vets.

It is my understanding that you do not need to be a vet to ride. I am a vet and am planning on going. I need to find a campground or motel. Just curiuos if there will be a Nomad group.

Can't help you on the lodging. Mine is the only Nomad along with a couple of harleys.
