Brake Light Strobe
Several of the folks expressed interest in the little Hi Intensity brake light that I and several others in the group have added to our bikes.
Below is the link to the company that supplies them. As you check out their web site you'll see there are a number of choices available. The Ecco 3730 and the TIR3 are two that work in the "top rear reflector replacement" that I (see pic) and most of the others have employed. I have had an older version of the Ecco light for over 3 years and it works great. http://www.lshlights.com/

Brake Light Strobe
I have two TIR3s on my Wing and use them for auxiliary rear turn signals. There is no excuse for anyone to misinterpret my intentions. Those lights are some bright.

Brake Light Strobe
Trosco,
How difficult is it to wire the strobe in? I would like to have it for a brake light and running light. Is there any module required? How did you mount it? |

Cap, the light I and most of the others are using is the ECHO 3730. My older version had 9 flash program choices. The choices were number of flashes and speed of flashes. The new model has added a few more choices like count down (3-2-1 and repeat) flashes and it does offer a solid on choice.
But it doesn't offer two levels of intensity. They may have something else that does but this unit doesn't. They are very bright, repeat very bright! It wouldn't be wise to use them as runing lights on the rear of the bike. Solid on they would be like two red spotlights pointed into the eyes of the people behind you. When I ride in a group and have to hold the brake on at a stop light people behind me complain. The wiring part is very simple, two wires, one to hot wire of brake light and the other too ground. There is a third wire that allows you to page through the flash options and pick which routine you want. It is also very easy to do. If you decide to get one, drop me an email Trosco@aol.com and I'll be glad to give you some more info if you need it.
