aftermarket stereo remote mount?

Need to know if anyone is frustrated and would like to mount the wireless remote like an IPOD or something, if you have please post pic of your mount.

I have tried laying it on the speedo bezel and works great, but only way mounting it there is velcro or buying tank bib with the clear pocket to make this work.

of course I have searched and wished there was a universal volume control for the aftermarket decks, IE Kenwood etc...so you could at least turn down volume upon approching a light.

My stereo automatically adjusts the volume according to your speed.

Unfortunately, I had to buy a Harley Davidson to get that feature.

I made a mount off my left mirror for the remote. It worked great but the stereo had an issue (Kenwood KMR 330 marine) so I sold it and bought a Sony marine unit but I don't have a remote for it.

All you have to do is make up a small mount like Zoom45 did and stick the remote to it with two way tape. I used to have a remote for my Ipod mounted like that and it worked great until it broke.

Saw a guy at a bike rally once, on another mod? years back. I said hey that's a nice mod, he said YEAH and I got it off this site from some guy here in Canada, I said is that right...LMAO...then he saw my bike and pointed saying it looked like the guy's from the internet. I said well it maybe...it was mine....just thought it was funny and just thought of it reading some of the posts here. Anyway sorry, here are the pics for inspiration.


Mounted my wireless remote for the stereo and can work it with gloves on, not too bad. fingerless PERFECT ;)


This is without the remote which I put in my trunk when not using it or when off the bike out of eye sight. Only velcro I could find was white at the time...go figure ??? Magic marker maybe??? Sorry it's a bit blurry damn camera...(no not the operator...well? maybe? ::)


This one is from the side profile showing the stand off. I made it from using a longer allen head bolt and a plastic stand off (actually it is from our patio set for shipping for stand offs for?? or other....kept them and see they did find a home...I've got enough to do 10 of these

Hope it inspires you to make your own mount or come with creative ways to do this. Oh and I don't currently have a tank bib or I't likely not done this one? Necessity is the motherhood of invention...

I don't have pictures but I used a Kurykan P-clamp / a piece of tin ( heavyer guage) and then velcro'd the Remote to it, it's mounted on the left bar inline with the switches. Then when I got my new Stereo the remote wouldn't work in that postion ( not a good line of site for the remote to the Stereo sensor on the front) so I opened up the remote - un-soldered the LED transmitter thingabobby ( its just 2 leads) soldered speaker wire to the remote & transmitter & strung it along the bars to just in front of the Stereo - taped it to the handlebars so you cannot see the Led thingie - thing has never worked so good! Even when the batteries in the Remote get low now it still works like a Champ!

Your welcome, anytime. If I can offer any advice while your doing your mount let me know. One other thing that location works fine even if the door of the stereo is down too. I too thought about a handlebar mount, but didn't find a location that was Line of sight without some issues with it working 100% consistently like it does in this location/position.
Besides it's different and some look at it and smile!!!! It would also work great if you had an ipod or an MP3 player as a location to mount that is easy to see and close at hand.
