How Do You Protect Your Self From This Idiot?

Motorcyclist injured after being run off Edmonton road
FIRST POSTED: TUESDAY, AUGUST 2, 2011 11:46:29 MDT AM

A 50-year-old man is facing charges after a motorcyclist was terrorized and run off Yellowhead Trail Monday.

The motorist was reported to police around 4 p.m. after other drivers saw a vehicle pushing the motorcyclist from behind before he was run off the road eastbound on Yellowhead.

"The suspect allegedly followed the motorcyclist, pushing him up the road, until eventually, the motorcyclist lost control and flew off of his bike, into a ditch," said cop spokeswoman Lisa Sobchyshyn.

"He sustained numerous injuries, really serious scrapes and requires surgery."

Several witnesses also dialed 911 to report a pickup truck tailgating and weaving dangerously through traffic.

"Witnesses told police the vehicle was swerving and driving extremely closely behind several other motorists, before he focused on the motorcyclist," said Sobchyshyn.

Witnesses passed on the licence plate information and a man was later arrested.

Sobchyshyn said alcohol and drugs do not appear to be a factor in the incident.

Wow, I can't believe we have such idiots on the road. Unless the traffic was bumper to bumper he would never have gotten that close to me or at least I don't think I would have let him.

People never seem to amaze me anymore as far as how stupid they are... Me personally, I would not let them that close if at all possible, and if they were to get that close, I guess I would have to resort to the southern way, pull out the 45 and start shooting.... I hope they hang the guy that did this....

I wonder why the guy on the bike didn't try to speed up and pass to get away.

Is it a paved road?
How fast were they going when he went off the road?
The way it reads, the mc rider may not of had a chance to do much, what with trying to stay upright.
Please post more as this progresses.

It depends. If you are left handed, it's not as difficult. If you are right handed, cruise control helps a lot.

Can't when I commute. It's verboten where I work, even if I left in the car/bike in parking lot.

Wear your helmet or ear plugs when practicing. That could really damage your hearing. ;)
