Has anybody done this and wasnt happy with it after they did it? I watched the video on it and it sounded ok ,but he never reved it up or drove it. Im wondering if theres alot more snap -crackle and pop or just a good rumble?

I did mine and it lowers the tone and just a wee bit louder. No snap, crackle,or pop.I don't think you will find many negative comments.

i found it gave more tone to my 99s sound, also i found a little of the torque had moved from the bottom to mid way through the rev range...im very happy with it as i can still hear my stereo on the open road..

Nonetheless, there are times when we do some long-distance riding 2-up, and quieter is definitely better after we've been on the road for several hours. So I set mine up so I can put them back and remove them with just a couple of screws. Works great for me. Nice and quiet on long trips and when my wife and I are out. Little more rumble so I can at least hear my own bike when I'm out with a friend of mine who has a Heritage with V&H pipes.

I liked the sound so much after I did it that I went and bought a Harley

The debaffled mufflers were perfect for me, not too loud but just loud enough to know the bike was a Vtwin. No snap crackle pop, just a nice rumble.

I only know of one person on here that didn't like the sound.
I like mine and my wife rides her own bike behind me and never has she complained about the noise.

The guys I ride with say they really like the "tone" of the bike now. I wish I could fine out the guy who wrote that article here and send him a pay pal thanks for his brilliance!

I like the sound also, just enough rumble. Be sure and cap off your reed valves though as you will hear more pop on deceleration if you don't.

It was our very own BlownDodge, in his only moment of brilliance.

Im sure that was a great cost saving measure rather than buying aftermarket pipes.

Hi Guys, my 'Nad came with the "bafflectomy" already done, love the sound it produces but I wasn't happy with what it left showing in the tailpipes, so I used the next size up holesaw and 'trimmed' out the lip left behind after the baffles were removed.
Here is a pic of the result plus a 'full length' pic of my 'Nad with my 900 Custom I upgraded from in the background. P1050492.jpg, P1050495.jpg |
