My vaquero won't start...it's been running fine specially since I installed the PCV
was about to go grab lunch...rode the bike today, so I turned the key, pulled it out and noticed that it didn't make that electrical noise that it always makes...So I checked to make sure the kill switch was in the Run position...it was...so I flipped it up and down, no sound. Put it in 1st then back to neutral, put kickstand up and back down tried to start bike with clutch lever in…Pulled the seat and battery box cover using the tool kit (much nicer than the old honda one). Checked the ground and hot connections at the battery, checked the pcv...checked (to the best of my ability) the posi tap connections near the battery box and at the servo motor, checked the injector plugs...everything looks good. Disconnected the negative from the battery for about 30 minutes...disconnected the positive....replaced it, then the negative...still not noise when I hit the starter button, or turn ignition to on and kill switch to run....I found if I turned kill switch to stop, and the ignition to acc...then switched ignition to on and flipped the kill switch to run, it would start to make the sound but stop abruptly....sometimes it would stay on for awhile…even sounded like it was completing its little noise thing (I assume it just primes the motor)…lights on the PCV seemed to act normal when it was making the sound…but nothing happens when I hit the starter…I know the battery isn't dead, the radio and displays work
after my lunch was over, the bike finally started...and I ran it around the parking lot...parked it, idled it...then cut it off, and started it up again about A dozen times....WHAT IS WRONG WITH MY BIKE???

Check the battery, cell by cell. Sounds like it might need to be replaced.

Batteries can be Kooky. Could be a short in the battery.
That's a horrible feeling until you find the problem. Good luck! It reminds me of this story:

when your bike finally started after lunch, did you follow your normal starting procedure or have to do something special to coax it to life.
Also, do you normally hit the kill switch when you shut down the bike or just use the key. |

Got a volt meter? Check the battery voltage. If it is 10-11volts it probably will not even cycle the fuel pump.If you got 12.7 volts it is fully charged. Check it again while pushing the starter button, if it doesn't drop then somewhere you are not getting power from the battery. Did you check the main fuse, pretty sure you have one we do on the Nomads.
Sorry didn't read the bottom of your post were you got it going, so the above does not really apply. Could be one of the switches on the clutch or side stand, maybe unplug and push them on again.?

It may be a bad ignition switch, try turning it on and off a few times if it ever does it again. It could also be a loose electrical plug, somewhere in the harness. I'd check the plug that goes to the fuel tank first, to make sure the pump is working.

The bike is still under warranty so once you get it going I would talk to the dealer about a new battery or whatever needs fixing.
