Smile Ultimate Baffles vs Cut in half Baffles for V&H

Currently have the stock baffles that go in the V&H pipes cut in half on my bike. Love the deep sound but looking for maybe a bit louder? Was wondering what those who are using the ultimate baffles think?

Thanks!

Dale

I have the 1/2 baffles in my V&H, too. It's a deep sound but a bit rough. I've listened to a few videos and the UBs have a much smoother tone as well as being reasonably loud and deep.

Ultimate baffles seem to be the way to go. I have seen a lot of good reports on here. Most guys that have them seem to really like them.

Now that Brad brought it up.

This is what I had in my V&H. I loved the way they sounded, and several guys said it was the same as the Ultimate Baffle (UB). However, these were slightly shorter than "half".

UB's will definitely give you all the rumble you can stand. I go back and forth between those and my stockers. The UB's are kick-ass, no doubt about it!

And....if you happen to be in your hotel room and somebody starts your bike up....you will DEFINITELY hear it and come a'runnin....eh Jared!

The UB are a nice sound, but are louder and will bark if you crack the throttle.
I had the Stock V&H baffles wrapped in sheet metal and they had a pretty good tone to them, not quite as loud as the UB.

It's my understanding that the UB has the same size through hole as the largest portion of the VH OE baffle pipe. If you're already at half the length or less, like I showed above, you may not experience a drastic difference with the money spent for UB's. IMO

Here's another thought. Big City, Monster baffles - OR some creative equal like I experimented with.

The $80/pair Monster baffle is shown on the right, just a washer suspended in a tube. What I see as an equal, is shown on the left. A bit of copper plumbing from Lowe's. Maybe $10/pair. Install it the same way, at the end of the head pipe as it enters the muffler. It's another idea.

That was the last time she started before she went to sleep for the season, I watch it at least once a day.
