Nomad 1700 Cruise Control
Has anyone noticed issues with the resume feature on their cruise control? I have noticed that if I stop at a light or slow down to say less than about 30 or so, the resume doesn't do anything. I have to set the speed again and then as long as I am only slowing down a few miles per hour or so, then it works fine. I know it doesn't work below a given speed in a given gear, I understand that from the manual. But, even in a car you can be doing 65 or whatever with it set, stop at a light, proceed back up to at least 40 or so, hit the resume and it will maintain the previous speed set. It seems this should be similar. Once I get back up to speed and in the same gear, resume does nothing. Any opinions or experience please, thanks.

Couple things. First, you might get a better response in the 1700 section. Second, my CC works great.

It's posted in the Nomad/Vaquero/Voyager section, Chris. It seems appropriate to me.

I never said it was inappropriate. I still think he'd get a better response in the 1700 section, but it's not my bike.

RTFM, this is by design. When you drop below 30 mph the cruise setting is canceled.

Thanks, I knew below 30 it was cancelled. I just didn't think that should erase the memory for resume purposes.

Yeah, I am not sure of the reasoning behind canceling under 30 requiring a reset. Probably some type of safety reason.

also if you shift down or up a gear the CC will have to be reset. that is the way it is on my bike.

Now that is different than mine. I can be going along at 65 or 70 in 6th, drop to 4th to pass go back to 6th, hit resume and it "resumes". Same happens if I have to slow down just a bit, drop to 5th, retain speed, shift to 6th and resume.

I don't always have to. But when two up and loaded on a two lane road, I don't taken' my time passing on the back roads.
