I like the look of my Stock Nomad Bags, but i really like the Vaquero side open bags better, and the looks are just as good, But wondering if they still fit/mount the same on the Nomad?
Anyone ever tried or done this? Also trying to find chrome passenger floor board covers, and a chrome clutch case cover to replace the stock black plastic cover from the right side of the bike, if anyone knows where to find these things, i havent had much luck? thanks guys! I never inspected the Nomad or Voyager saddle bag mounting to see how similar it is to the Vaquero. It makes sense the swap could be made, but the question is how much hardware is included in the swap.
The old adage it true, "where there's a will, there's a way". I've seen HD bags on Nomads too. I hope someone here can help you with the comparison!

I know getting the bags wont be an issue i can buy the complete assemblies fron Ronayers.com, but just not sure if they will fit, i THINK they will, but need to find out if that means i need custom mounts? or modify anything ect.. im hoping for a straight switch, nothing custom, so we'll wait for the masses to give their feedback.

Have you actually priced those bags? Could you put vaquero doors on the nomad bags? Wouldn't that accomplish the same thing?

Nomad Bags are Top Load door, Vaquero are side load door they are completely different bags, thats the whole point of changing them out, i like the look and function of the Vaquero better. havent priced them, not worried about price at the moment, want to know if it will work, if Yes then ill go shopping, They are readily available on E-bay, or Like OEM Sites like Ron Ayers.

What part of the Vaquero bags do you like over the Nomad? If it is the lack of grooves then I would just take them off and have them filled. Several members have done this. Utah Motorcyclist (Jared) is one of them.

I think he has an 09 or later Nomad with the top loader bags. He wants side loaders.

That is one of the reasons that I went with the Vaquero over the Nomad. Definitely do not like the top loader bags.

It's an illustration of why people should list their bike information in their signature line.
