Just Ordered This Back Rack

I just placed an order for this rack for my 2013 Vaquero:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Kawasaki-Vaq...-/230893406832

I chose the slotted version. The skull version and the 8 ball with flames version were too bling for me. This should help with luggage space for my upcoming trip to the Blue Ridge Parkway. I plan on putting a large dry bag on the pillion seat http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com...T.ac=SLIsearch using a Saddlemen Versa Mount system http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com...T.ac=SLIsearch
and then the rack should hold my tent, air mattress and two sleeping bags. The hard bags should hold my stove, mess kits, camera, tablet and my Taurus Judge (cause you never know!). What else would you all take? We will be out for 3-4 weeks.

I've been thinkin about trying to hunt down who that red vaquero belongs to on the Wompus Racks website so I can get some dimensions from them to send to my dad to have him make me a rack to support a trunk. I really like the Wompus rack, but its not worth 250 for sure

I had the exact same setup for my 07' MeanStreak and it did work fairly well. Helps give a little bit of back support. Still have the setup and I'll use it on the Vaquero if and when I need extra storage. I do think you will be fine with that setup. Only concern is and I haven't tried it yet would be if the bag does some moving around it is going to abade the paint . Just have to do a test fit.

PURTY NICE and seems to be well made.
It will surely add to the long-haulability to our Vaquero's, something I just might consider.
Thanx for the link and info.

Nice! Thanks for the link. Got me thinking about doing same or similar. Appears to be available only in black powder coated finish. Wonder what it would look like in chrome? What cost to have pieces plated by third party?

Howdy Neighbor. Been to Goreville a few times.

I would take some tools and a tire plug kit and a CO2 infiltrator and lots of CO2 cartridges.
