eBay Brake Pads
Has any one bought brake pads off eBay? If so, what was your experiance? Any recommendations on a seller? The difference in price from there to a stealership is amazing.
Thanks for your time

get all mine off EBay, my present set has around 15000 kms on them with a lot of wear left, got the full set for around $45 shipping included. I have always used the sellers on there and never had a problem yet. Sorry can't remember the sellers name.

Me Too!.......except for the time I realized the day before a major ride my rear pads were shot. Paid $66 for one set of pads at the local stealer. I know they're in business to make a profit but they don't have tryto get rich off of every sale.

I got my last set off of ebay... Rasta hooked me up with the info. My issue was the rotor was bad and it just went downhill from there. I still have one set of front pads i can ship if anyone needs them.

I'm one of those guys that is leery about buying stuff off of ebay. You never know if the parts were possibly imperfect parts that were sold off. Especially with something like brake pads! I know a lot of people that buy them and have no problems so it might just be my OCD.
I just bought EBC V-Pads (they are a cross between organic and HH) from PartsShark. I think they were $36.00 a set. I will let you know how they feel once I get them on. From EBC: "E391 is an asbestos free, organic, moulded friction material designed for use in heavy duty and off-highway motorcycle applications. 30% copper by weight added makes this a high copper pad close to sintered durability levels. It has a medium-high coefficient of friction (μ) which retains a highly effective braking performance over a wide range of operating temperatures. This material offers stable braking with minimal pad and rotor wear, and minimal dusting of wheels. Application Heavy duty long life organic material for heavier touring bikes. Being a semi-sintered pad containing 30% copper by weight, the V-pad™ combines the benefits of the “feel” of an organic pad plus the low heat generation and rotor galling features that organics have with the lifetime of a sintered pad. Wear Rate/Projected Street Miles – 0.75 grammes eq. to 42,800 miles" |

I just ordered a complete set a couple hours ago, $37.00 shipped. Even if they last half of what my other pads did I'll still be way ahead.

The rear rotor was scarred up pretty bad after a bad brake job and if you go back and read my posts you will see that I had the rear caliper come off while riding the dragon. Not good. I ended up getting new rotor and pads and had a shop fix it all up for me....
