Been away too long, and hoping to change that

It seems every time I want to rejoin the fine folks here, life has it's way of getting in the way. Between a new job that has me traveling about 50% of the time, my new wife and her full-time college work, the bikes have been neglected.

Hopefully this is the beginning of a new chapter, now that things have settled. The Antler's rally, which we're confirmed to attend, will be the kickoff.

Wow, this place has changed... Maybe I need to go back and re-introduce myself in the New Members section.

Glad to see some of the old folks still here and posting, as well as a bunch of new members! Looking forward to catching up with ya'll!

Jim....indeed a lot has changed. Many of the old guard are now riding non-Vulcans....we won't mention any names...but most are still around. Glad to see you back on the board....maybe we will see you in Orofino, ID next July as well for the combined NW/SW rally...!

Indeed! When I saw you & Cheryl were on the list, that sealed the deal for this trip! It's been entirely too long, my friend.

Mr. Netnorske, sir, I am thus greener with envy than I ever was, reading your sign. I salivate over that same bike you currently ride.. How do you like it?

I dare not test ride one - I sat on one at the deal this past Spring and instantly felt my wallet melting.

I certainly hope to do more rallies with the crew. To date, one of my biggest guilts is trying to make these things and having it wash out. Bottom line: I need fewer hobbies. :)

Welcome back, as it were. See ya'll in Antlers. It looks like I'll actually have my wife with me this time. Life happens doesn't it?!

LOL....I dare not extoll the virtues of the XCT too fervently on this here Vulcan forum for fear of an uprising by the locals.......but indeed....we very much enjoy the bike as it really suits our needs well. As with any bike, it took me awhile to get it personalized to fit me better, but I am for sure there now. All I can say is that it is like my Nomad...with about 40 more HP stock, an extra gear....and larger cargo capacity. What's not to like....?? Do not test ride one until you are ready for your wallet to open wide....seriously. You know what their motto is...... PM me if you have any more questions....

Welcome back Jim.

Kris only has 40HP more and 70lbs heavier? Maybe he should have gone the ST route? and additional 20 more HP (total of 60 more=120 total) and 200 lbs lighter than the XCT!

Hey Kris, maybe we should meet in Raymond or Chehalis for lunch soon?

You didn't see me sitting on your ST one morning in Craig, CO...I could barely get a leg over it and when I did, the jewels were screaming at me as I tried desperately to get each big toe on the ground! Not at all my cup of tea at any HP....

It is a tall sucker. Especially after I added the Day Long Russel. Add another inch since you sat on it. Funny thing is there are some guys w/29" inseams that swear they can flat foot them when seat is adjusted to the lowest position.
