2007 Nomad gas tank capacity

I am posting this for a fellow rider and Nomad owner. He purchased a bike in Arizona but was told his gas tank capacity is 3.5 gallons. I can't find any reference to a smaller tank on the Nomad but wanted to ask the group if this is possible. Someone mentioned his reserve was 2 gallons but that just doesn't sound right. Many thanks...

Dob

I believe the gas tank capacity is 5.3 gals on a 07 Nomad. There is no reserve as such seeing as there is no petcock to switch over to reserve. I think the low fuel level light comes on with about a gallon left in the tank so you have about 35 to 40 miles before it runs out of fuel completely.

The only tank listed for the 2007 is a 5.3. You can check it out your self by hitting the VBA web tab at the top of the page. When the page loads hit the VBA home tab then Nomad history.

Thanks all. I searched the forums before and found a few posts on this and all said 5.3. I had a 4.2 on my Classic 1500 and that was really limiting. I'll let him know and that he has no reserve. Many thanks...

I believe all the 1600's had the same size tank. The 1500's or at least some years had a bit smaller tank.

The 99's had the smallest tanks and some 2000's as well.

Will the larger 07 tank fit an 03? The extra mileage would be nice.

A gallon of Arizona gas is bigger. It expands cause of the gawd awful heat down here.(jess kidin')

My '05 has the same tank and it's cap is 5.3 gallons.

So you Arizona guys have more gas?? I'll keep that in mind at the next rally when I'm eating dinner.

Another side effect of the Az heat is that we're full of hot air

Lucky for me, my 2002 tank empties about the same time my bladder is full.. perfect pit stop strategy! Sometimes its 2 per tank though...

No, they are totally different style tanks.
