Finally Time for Introductions
I actually joined this forum back in January, been creeping around, and even posted a couple things. Had some conversations via PM with a few people, gave my 2 cents a few times. I've also learned a lot.
So I think it's time I introduce myself. My name is Jai, I go by Dragon, here in the Austin area. I ride with the Gypsy MC International. I have been riding for 26+ years. In that time I have owned dirt bikes, standards, classics, 80's "cruisers", a cult classic, sport bikes, and technological masterpieces. I first saw the Vaquero in 2011 in my local dealer. I was in for tires on my 2009 Concourse 1400. It immediately grabbed my attention. I have always been attracted to the Road Glide, except the part where it's a Harley. No offense to any Harley fans, I just don't see the point in buying a bike with a 70 year old, air cooled, push rod motor...especially when I ride as much and as hard as I do in Texas heat. So when I saw the fairing, and that lovely, curvy tail, I fell in love. I chased the bike for 3 years when, at last, in January this year, I found the perfect bike. A 2012, in green, in Texas (I was willing to travel), with 723 miles on it!! I bought it, rode it home, and started my love affair. My 2003 Z1000, which I bought new in August of 2003, appreciated the rest (142,000 miles of very hard riding), and welcomed the new girl to the garage. I have found a couple of the known issues, so far. Saddlebag rubbing, intake leaks, gear indicator is insane...but I love a bike with personality...and this one is full of it.
