Question 2015 Voyager using earbuds instead of speakers

Is it possible to use earbuds on my 2015 Voyager? I have just ordered the iPod Audio Kit K10400-040 so I can plug in my iPod for the music but I want to listen to it through earbuds only.

I think you can get the audio cables and use helmet speakers but not earbuds.

Why don't you just plug the earbuds in to the iPod and put it in a pocket or on your arm? That's what I do.

Or get bluetooth and play it over that, the Sena and others have an earbud attachment point. That is what I use for the most part, or if I want to listen to the radio I use the Kawasaki audio attachments with the speakers.

I would like to be able to control the iPod with the handlebar switches.

I will check into that. On my Harley Ultra Classic I did this but used earbuds by adding an adapter that let me plug in the earbuds into the larger intercom cable. Maybe that is possible here.

I like the bluetooth idea, no wires to plug in between me and the bike.

You need to get the Kawasaki audio pigtails that plug in under the seat. You can then use an adapter to go from the Kawasaki DIN connector to 3.5mm earbud jack. The only adapter that I found to work is from Plugup. You need the CanAm style. Harley adapters will not work. Not stereo. Been there done that. Take this info to the bank. It works.

Thanks H8BUGZ, can you let me know which pigtail I need for under the seat? I found the Adapters at Plugup.com that you are talking about. I still have one from my Harley but most likely wont work as you said.

Kawasaki K10400-036 and K10400-035 are the rider and passenger pigtails that plug in under the seat. One is rider with bracket and the other one is passenger. They are not cheap. If I remember correctly, the Victory adapter will work too. (between Kawasaki pigtails and earbuds). When I purchased they did not list Voyager.

Why not just get a Bluetooth transmitter and put it under the seat, hooking it to the rear speaker leads?

I would like info on this, does it charge like an Ipod does? Next, is there an adapter that allows an ipod to be used with this? I'm want to use my TomTomRider through the stereo and also the ipod, but have the GPS over ride the ipod when voice directions are issued.

Try Bovee 1000. It seems to be the solution.

Vaquero rear headphone jack.jpg

I made this, that plugs into the rear speakers under the seat. Then installed a blue tooth transmitter to it. Works great sitting still. as you drive it gets interference. I was told a Common Ground was the possible issue. Now It was also suggested it could be the AVC. And I think it is. Because how would it be good standing still and garble up as you drive.

If I can find the Jack I will test it today. with the AVC off.

The Plugs are here http://www.cycleterminal.com/hm-non-sealed-series.html

Any connector I have needed for my bike was found in the above link. I do not like cutting wires

I now listen to the music from the speakers. I do have the iPod cable and a Garmin cable that all works through the speakers with the handlebar controls. I can have the Garmin announce turns through the speakers if I want.
