New suspension on its way

After reading all the reviews and getting tired of my bikes dipping, diving and bottoming out I've ordered new progressive springs for the front and and new set of 412s for the back. Will be a nice day project when the parts arrive. Looking forward to the ride and handling difference.

Is there a reason people don't go for the 416 air shock? I like the adjustability given that I ride solo, two up, and also tour. Is it that most people who choose the 412s set it and forget it?

Not trying to be negative about the choice of the 412s. They're popular and there are lots of positive reviews.

Hope I'm not taking this off topic...just curious.

The price may be a factor.
416's are about $150 more than 412's I believe.

I know nothing about the 416's, but the 412's are a great shock for the price. Check with progressive about their spring rates before ording to make sure you get the right ones. I'm on my second set now. The first ones were the normal spring rate and after 6yrs they were worn out. The second set are the hd ones and I ride with the second setting and third setting when loaded down for a trip.
