HD Frt wheel on my Vaq

I've been looking at replacing the front wheel with something a little more stylish. Would normally do both ends, but since very little of the rear is visible...

Based on what others have already done, it seemed that the late model HD wheels were pretty close out of the box, needing only a little machining here and there.

Long story short, pulled the trigger on a Craigslist wheel/tire/rotor combo and started cutting. My measurements for the spacers came out at 1.205 on the left side and 1.210 on the right. Several hours were spend grinding/filing and test fitting the calipers.

Hey, the wheel looks great and I like what you did with the rear turn signals tooo. Still weighing all my options because I eventually want to change mine. Just haven't made up my mind which way to go.

I added side markers to the bags in the place of the stock reflectors, also added amber side markers to the side of the fairing when I removed the oem turn signal chin-up bar thing. I ride in the dark a lot, and like extra lighting.

Is the rotor spacing correct for a 1500 Nomad by chance?

Not sure. My guess is it isn't. My Vaq rotors are 6 7/16 apart (outside surface to outside surface) and the HD is 6 11/16. Difference of .250. I milled off .125 from the caliper mount portion of each fork leg.

That what I'm talking about, wheel looks great!!!! I'm on the same path, thanks for the info. What do you think about machining the wheel instead of the fork leg??? What is the center stand you are using?
