Whats your favorite Eye Protection ?
What is your favorite Eye protection?
I have found the Safety glasses at Home Depot from the HGTV Show "Holmes on Homes". Holmes glasses are $15.99 Shatter resistant and have rubber nose pads, so they do not slip around and Rubber on the ear parts to keep from flopping around. They are aero dynamic and sit close to the face, and stay tight. I carry a clear pair and smoked pair all the time. I keep them in a Crown Royal bag ( can be fun acquiring the bags, But really got them from the bar I work at) to keep from scratching when stored on the bike. Ask your bartender, to many go to waste. Recycle. Use them for years. The bags even can be washed. When the glasses scratch I buy a new pair.

I was spending the night in Los Angeles on a ride to northern California a few years ago. I went to get some dinner and it was dark when I finished eating. That's when I realized I had left my night riding glasses back home. I found the nearest Lowe's and bought some 3M safety glasses.
For daytime riding, I have a pair of WileyX sunglasses with a rubber gasket to keep dust out. I also carry a spare pair of el cheapo sunglasses just in case.

WileyX c/w interchangeable lenses. Clear, smoke & amber. I got the matching lenses in prescription as well, but.... found out I can see down the road better but can barely read my gauges. Now use the ones that came with it.

Full face shield: had a person turn left in front of me once. My face shield bent but did not break on impact with their car. Glasses or goggles would have only protected my eyes. I would have hit nose first. Plus I've had multiple car windshields cracked by rocks. I suspect that goggles or safety glasses would not stop those from smashing my teeth. So I go full face shield.

Also have a full face and shield, but don't always ride with the shield down.
Had a great pair of tinted safety glasses I got at Home Depot. Left them at a gas station. Same Home Depot doesn't carry them any more. Got another pair that work. Just not the same. Also have the flip down sun visor on the helmet. Riding due west in early winter the sun is right in my eyes. Use both glasses and the visor.

I carry 2 pair, 1 clear and 1 smoke/tinted, both are"bi-focal" (1.50) riding glasses with foam gasket, rubber nose piece and arm coverings/sleeves and have u.v. protection. Lets me see down the road clearly and I'm also able to better/clearly read my gauges and gps.(to find out where in the hell am I now?) They're comfortable, close fitting and stay put. $30.00 / at J&P Cycle and come with a sturdy/rigid clam shell style case that zippers shut, has belt loops and a clip. Made by Chap'el. cheers

I have been using my regular street glasses with clip on sun shades, not ideal but it works. Only time it really bothers me is when it's cold and the suns shining, my eyes water something fierce.
This time I'm going to go with prescription, auto darkening, wrap around safety glasses like these, http://tinyurl.com/kq84zfk they'll probably cost a few bucks but work pays a percentage of safety work glasses............Mike

Modular helmet with full shield and drop down sunshade, plus my eye glasses are the
transition type. I can usually find a happy way to travel with the choices I have.

I recommend these Edge high impact safety glasses. They fit my fat head better than anything else I've found. They stay put & don't hurt my temples or ears after a few hours. They're cheap too. We buy them by the box at work, about $10 a pair. I have smoked , clear & yellow lenses. I've got a $120 pair of sunglasses in my saddlebag I haven't worn in 2 years, these are better! No more over priced brand name sunglasses for me!
