saddlebag came Loose during trip

Today while out for a ride, my right OEM hard saddlebag came off my bike and bounced on the highway. That was a scary deal!! The bag is still in 1 piece, but the latch is broken (the part on the bag itself that the latch catches on.
Has this happened to anyone else?
After looking at it, it looks like the bolts that hold it on came loose. When I recovered the bag, both bolts were in the bag, so I assume that they came loose.
I now have a bag that has a lot of road rash on it and it sure does hurt the pride to see that one bad part on the bike.

Periodicly check those puppies....hate to hear about the bags....to me the bags are one of the best looking sets ever made....Just wish they sealed better.

I heard of it happening a couple of times in the past. Once for sure it wasn't installed correctly, and thats why it fell off.

Looking at the bag and bolts and holder, I think it just worked itself loose. I was participating in a 2 day Cancer run across the southern part of Kansas and I was on the last 100 miles and hit a bridge a little harder than I wanted and the bag just flew off the bike.
I definitely learned my lesson on checking the bolts frequently.

Both bolts had to be completely out, and you would have had to hit a bump for the bag to bounce up and loose from all three resting points.

I went over a bridge on my route and there was a bump (like the bridge was lower than the a-parchment to the bridge). The saddlebag came off on the bridge and slide on the bridge.
