storage in wheel chock or side stand

While on the subject of storage, I don't have a bike jack to get it off the floor so do you use the side stand or a wheel chock :-/

Side stand. But I put boards under each tire because, uh, hum, I don't know, I heard something about moisture and the tires. The boards are supposed tosoak up the moisture before it gets to the tires :-/ Hey, it can't hurt.

I suppose you could gain a little room if it were stored in a chock, depending on your storage situation.

storage in wheel chock or side stand

This is my first winter with a bike that I don't have to ride for transportation (although if the economy coninues this way that might change). Our off seasons are fairly mild from a temperature standpoint (maybe a month of real cold) but they are very wet...I won't ride if I know it will rain.

This first off season I plan to just park it on its sidestand and keep the new battery tender hooked up whenever not riding, I will start it once a week and try to at least go up + down the driveway once to get the lubricants moving in the bearings and gears.

We usually get a smattering (maybe 6 over 90 days) of real cold clear days ...I will try to take a ride on those days.

Other than that I will just watch the tires air pressure real close.

Any other suggestions?

I'm pondering if I should winterize or just start it up once a week :-/
I would ride occasionally during the winter but with the dang salt and crap on the roads after every little ride you have to clean it, plus I'm most likely going to have surgery on my shoulder :'(

No problem here storing my bike...sits all by itself in the garage..sits on side stand which is on a piece of wood. I do that to keep the bike more upright. Ride in the cold also...

No storage here. I ride year around. I commute to work on it. I missed 3 days so far this year riding to work.

No storage here either but I do have a wheel chock mounted on a 2'x3' piece of 5/8 plywood. I got it from HF for about $30 on sale. It gives me a little more room in the garage and makes it easy to check and change fluids and clean the bike. I find it worth the small investment.

Cheers!
