Welcome, nice bike.....I had an 05' 1500 Classic for many years. It just got too heavy so I'm now on an 883 Sportster.

I had an 05' 1500 Classic and it "did" have the de-comp feature. Mine never had a problem. Since the 1600 was basically the same engine I would think that it had one also.

I am still riding at 70.....put 6K on my bike last year local riding. I have down sized twice in the last five years however. Now riding a 500 lb Sportster.

I do remember something about the driveline front...

I do remember something about the driveline front knuckle stripping teeth on the earlier Nomads.....might be something to look at if the clutch is good.
