Yellow spot lights??????
no big advantage unless your driving in fog/snow. In that case you should be home like TC.

Yellow spot lights??????
My Kawa spots came with 25W H3 bulbs. I just replaced them with Amber 55W H3 bulbs. Nice and bright and the alternator has no problem with the extra load. Like others have said, I believe they stand out better among all the white headlights on the road these days.

Yellow spot lights??????
I've been using amber riding lights for several years. Now, the following is just my opinion, so some of you guys using white riding lights don't go getting your panties in a wad....OK? Just chillax. Last I checked, we still live in a country where I can do or buy anything I want and install and use it. Just because you may disagree with me, doesn't mean it's wrong.
I've used white and amber riding lights and I've found that amber gets you noticed more readily than white. It may be because there aren't that many using amber lights and it's different, thus causing more attention. I also have people pull over and let me by thinking I must be a motorcycle cop (of course the CB antenna doesn't hurt). I have traveled interstate many times with my CB on channel 19 and heard numerous truckers yell at everyone thinking I'm a smokey. Again, I think it's the ambers coupled with the antenna.....I never heard anything from truckers when I ran white riding lights. It just seems that this kind of thinking and reaction from others started when I installed ambers. Some other benefits by using amber lights: 1. You can be tailgunner in a group and the leader will notice you quicker in his rear view. 2. Riding with ambers at night will get you noticed quicker although white lights are better for seeing at night. I first bought the fluted amber lights and found the un-fluted to be brighter and better, but that's up to the individual.

Yellow spot lights??????
Maybe I wouldn't smash as many bugs at night if I had amber or yellow spots. Now that's an idea! ::)

Yellow spot lights??????
Chillax?????? ::)
Well of course as usual, Trip is right, so no sense argueing. I've had people in town slow down when I'm behind them also, which would seem to lend to the theory of 'it's a motorcycle cop behind me'. That would be reason enough right there to use yellow lights. Of course now that they've been endorsed by the Grand Poobah, everybody'll run out and get 'em, and so the quest for individuality continues.... |

Damn, I just bought new sealed beams 'cause one of mine blew. If I had read this thread first I would be running amber spots now. :( Well, next time I guess.

Yellow spot lights??????
I agree the yellow commands attention, but I don't agree with that is why these were made.
They were made for inclement weather where white light reflects back at a driver. For all my life working with cars and before yellow lamps were marketed as fog lights. With them on a Nomad in a hard fog you would want to be on low beam and probably would want low beam OFF. I run both yellow and white. Why not?
